Mrs Deborah McQueirns is an independent Registered and Chartered Forensic Psychologist, Chartered Scientist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
Her previous positions include Principal (Lead) Psychologist in HMPPS High Secure Estate and HMPPS Female Estate; Consultant Psychologist for Private Healthcare Forensic Learning Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Acquired Brain Injury Services; HMPPS Close Supervision Centre and NHS Mental Health and Personality Disorder Settings.
Deborah McQueirns has considerable expertise in the assessment, management and treatment of high risk complex and challenging offenders. Her special interests include assessment, management and treatment of clients with mental health/personality disorder often co-morbid and with complex needs; forensic developmental disorders; neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation; and violent/sexual offending. Deborah is a Certified Expert Witness having achieved full formal accreditation through Cardiff University and Bond Solon. Deborah regularly attends Court to give evidence and has completed many expert witness assessments including in high profile cases where there is media attention.
Her current special interests are Autism Spectrum Disorder within forensic populations and older offenders.
Deborah McQueirns has held academic/teaching positions at two universities. She has held numerous professional appointments including 2013-2017 Policy Lead for the BPS Division of Forensic Psychology.
She has been a Parole Commissioner for the Northern Ireland Parole Commissioners (equivalent to Parole Board Member) for 13 years.
Deborah is able to undertake expert witness assessments in both criminal and family law.
